Mortgage Intern

Position Summary: The Mortgage Intern at Texas Tech Credit Union will have the opportunity to work closely with our mortgage team and gain valuable experience in all aspects of the mortgage loan industry from originations, processing, underwriting and post-closing. This internship is designed to provide experience in the various aspects of mortgage loan industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of loan documents to final mortgage investors.
• Assist the loan originations team in preparing loans and organizing loan documentation.
• Evaluate market conditions with lock desk personnel and work with mortgage hedge advisors to maintain a profitable mortgage hedge portfolio.
• Evaluate loans at a high level to ensure a loan meets industry and investor underwriting guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve efficiencies.
• Support the origination of a loan from application to loan purchase.

Skills & Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business, Marketing, Real Estate, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to function well in a high-pace and at times stressful environment.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and ability to execute.
