Texas Tech FCU has partnered with Texas Tech Rec Sports to offer interest-free bike loans to Texas Tech students. Students can take out a loan through the credit union interest-free for twelve months. Bike shops participating in this program include:
There are five simple steps to finance your bike through Texas Tech FCU:
- Become a member with Texas Tech FCU
- Apply for the loan from Texas Tech FCU*
*Approval is not guaranteed
- Pick out your bike from one of the participating merchants
- Sign loan documents and pick up the check payable to the bike shop
- Register your bike FREE with the Texas Tech Police Department
Bike loan terms are as follows:
- Loans up to $500
- 0% interest for 12 months
- 10% interest after 12 months
- Required monthly principal payments
- Late fee applied if applicable
- Available for students only
- Must use a participating local bike shop
- Great way to establish credit
- FREE money management skills taught
- FREE bike registration available with the Texas Tech Police Department
